PRESS RELEASE: – 09/07/2024
CHOIR SINGING OUT FOR NEW KEY PLAYER
After eleven memorable and fulfilling years with Bolton Cancer Voices, retirement beckons for their Accompanist Mark Foster and one of the country’s few dedicated Choirs for cancer patients and cancer survivors is singing out for a talented pianist to replace him.
The Choir is keen to hear from anyone with the requisite skills and experience for the role. Applicants should have excellent musicianship and be proficient sight readers with experience of playing a wide variety of musical styles and genre: they must have a strong teamwork ethos with the ability to take direction quickly from the Musical Director and the shared goal of ensuring that the Choir strives to be the best it can be at all times. Previous experience of accompanying Choirs is preferred.
The Choir, which rehearses on Monday evenings throughout the year in the centre of Bolton, is looking to appoint someone to take up post around the end of July.

‘Mark’s been an integral part of our musical team almost since the start of our journey and he’ll be missed beyond words: he’ll certainly be a hard act to follow! His energy, enthusiasm, professionalism and dedication have helped build the Choir into what it is today and we can never thank him enough for the outstanding contribution he’s made.
We’re so proud of all we’ve achieved to date, the joy it brings and the message it sends. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of something very special and we’d love to hear from anyone with the passion to join us.’
